Foreign Conversion
We convert PAL and SECAM VHS foreign videotapes OR DVD’s to NTSC – which is the North American video standard. We also convert NTSC video formats (such as VHS, S-VHS, 8mm, etc.) to PAL, SECAM and other foreign VHS/DVD television standards.
What is video conversion?
There are three major television standards in the world (NTSC, PAL & SECAM) and there are variations of these standards (M-PAL, N-PAL and MESECAM). Because of these multiple standards, videotapes from certain foreign countries must be converted to the North American television standard format (NTSC) in order to be played back on our video equipment. Likewise, DVD’s or videotapes recorded in the North American format (NTSC) must be converted to another format (usually PAL or SECAM) in order to be viewed on that country’s equipment. Although the same VHS/DVD’s are standard world-wide, the signals recorded on them in various countries are different.How much does it cost? Shipping and handling extra. Both your original tape and the conversion will be returned to you.
